In 1959 Care City Bowlero closed its door and by doing so paved the path to the birth of the family fun center and bowling alley in East Norriton, called Our Town Alley. Our Town Alley opened it’s 28 lanes bowling alley in 1959 and was named after John Facenda, the then premier newscaster in Delaware Valley, and Jack Whitaker, the premier sports and weatherman for the same station.
More Than Just A Bowling Alley
Our Town Alley family center in East Norriton had gone through many changes in its 56 years. In 1960, there were 22 lanes added to the bowling alley, making up the 50 total lanes that still exist today. There were no major changes to Our Town Alley until 1985 when Steppy’s Sports Bar & Grille was added to the center. The next major change happened in 1989 when the automatic scoring and anvilane along with seating was added to the East Norriton facility.]

After 10 years with no changes, it was decided the bowling alley and family fun center needed a facelift and Steppy’s was enlarged in 1999 and again in 2002 along with a new bowling alley entrance, Pro Shop, Meeting and Seminar Rooms, and the Game Galaxy. Also the Laser Light show was added and from September to May, the center was spectacular.
